The Bitcoin baron: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?

Now, an Australian entrepreneur, claims he is the one behind Bitcoin and "Satoshi" was just an alias. Or is it?

Right after computer scientist and multiple business own Craig Steven Wright unmasked himself, a media frenzy ensured- with Bitcoin community leaders in disagreement over whether Mr. Wright was wrong.

Wright later wrote an open letter of apology- stating that he does not have the courage to publish proof that he is indeed the man behind Bitcoin.

It's estimated that Satoshi Nakamoto has amassed about a million Bitcoins, valued at almost half a billion dollars. That could mean serious tax or legal trouble for the mystery owner.

While financial experts continue to debate whether Bitcoin is a legitimate currency, the electronic cash continues to gain traction with large corporations as PayPal, Microsoft, Expedia and more adopt it as a method of payment. There are even Bitcoin ATMs.

Despite its association with the online black market- like the now shutdown "Silk Road" the U.S. looselt recognizes Bitcoin as a legitimate financial service.
So while you may be using Bitcoin any day now, "Satoshi Nakamoto" may never cash in.
