Uber opens Austin interest list for rides in driverless vehicles
What we know:
Starting on Wednesday, Austin customers can sign up within the Uber app to join the waitlist.
Uber says customers on the list would increase their chances of being matched with an autonomous, all-electric Jaguar I-PACE vehicle once the service launches.
Before now, the driverless vehicles were only available to early testers who were on Waymo's waitlist.
Waymo's service will only be available on the Uber app in Austin.
