Weekend rain causes some issues for Central Texas residents
Many counties in Central Texas received several inches of rain over the weekend. The heavy downpours caused the closing of low water crossings and roads and some were still closed Monday morning.
As of 6:45 a.m. on 9/10, ATXFloods reported that close to 40 low water crossings were closed.
All throughout the day on Sunday (9/9), Kyle police were active on social media updating about road conditions.
One of the hardest hit areas was Wimberley. Some of the residents that spoke to FOX 7 Austin say they hadn't seen rain like that since the floods in 2015.
Other parts that got a lot of rain including Bastrop, Burnet, Williamson and Travis Counties.
Besides road closures, power lines were knocked down in some areas and officials tell FOX 7 Austin that there were no water rescues needed.
