Crews continue to battle a wildfire near Inks lake State Park in Burnet County that started on July 29.

Inks Lake State Park closed and was under a mandatory evacuation yesterday. Texas Parks and Wildlife said the fire breached the boundary of the park northwest of Austin and about 250 park visitors were evacuated.

The Park Road Fire has burned 500 acres and as of the last update from officials is about 35% contained. Texas Parks and Wildlife says the fire began on private property off of County Road 116 by the park.

Officials say 150 homes have been evacuated but this morning some evacuated residents were allowed to return to their homes.

The Burnet County Sheriff's office says that residents in the 6000 block of CR 116 to Park Road 4 along Inks Lake State Park and Deer Springs were evacuated.

Residents were asked to seek shelter and get further updates at the Burnet Community Center located at 401 E. Jackson Street.
