Texas State baseball coach cancer free

Ty Harrington has won more than 500 games as Texas State’s head baseball coach and went to three College World Series as a Longhorn infielder in the mid-80’s but he may have just got his biggest W of all.

Harrington was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer a year ago and is now cancer free. He shared with FOX 7 what he’s learned during his life-changing past year.

Harrington feels that support from everyone, including friends and family, was key in his recovery. He says he won’t be considered fully recovered until he’s cancer free for five years but in his word he’s “off to a good start.”
