Britney Spears reportedly checked into a mental health facility, according to TMZ.

Sources tell TMZ that Spears has been distraught over her father’s health issues. Jamie Spears underwent two surgeries to correct “major issues” related to his intestines and colon, and the website reports that he suffered complications from the more recent, second surgery.

Spears previously postponed her Las Vegas residency “Britney: Domination” to care for her father during his recovery.

“I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make,” Spears wrote in part Jan. 4 on Instagram. “A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand.”

Sources tell TMZ that Spears checked herself into the facility about a week ago where she will stay for 30 days.

After her highly public meltdown in 2008, Spears’ lawyer resigned from his position as her conservator, and her father stepped in to monitor the performer’s finances, according to Fox News.

Jamie Spears also has children Bryan Spears, 41, and Jamie Lynn Spears, 27, with Britney’s mom, Lynne.
