GoFundMe started to help children pay for mother's funeral

(Austin Police Department)

A GoFundMe has been started to help the children of San Juana Macias pay for her funeral. Macias was murdered during a domestic violence dispute. Her children are asking for help with her funeral expenses because she did not have life insurance.

According to police, 40-year-old San Juana Macias was last seen on Friday, July 5 in North Austin.

Macias's ex-boyfriend, Jamie Jerome Wingwood had allegedly made comments to Macias's family that led them to believe she was in imminent danger and that he was fleeing the state. Macias was listed as a missing and endangered person by the Austin Police Department and a national BOLO (be on the look out) was issued on Wingwood's maroon 2008 Honda Accord.

Wingwood was arrested on Monday, July 8 in Louisiana following a police chase.

APD detectives traveled to Louisiana to interview Wingwood July 9 and information from Wingwood led homicide and missing persons detectives to the Roadway Inn in the 1600 block of E. US 290 where they found the body of a Hispanic female with obvious trauma, believed to be Macias.
