Harker Heights house damaged after vehicle fire spreads to residence
HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas - A vehicle fire spread to a nearby home on Saturday afternoon in Harker Heights, causing moderate damage to the residence and displacing one person, officials said.
What we know:
The Harker Heights Fire Department was called about 2:38 p.m. to the 1100 block of Indian Trail, where crews found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames with fire extending to the home.
The first engine crew began attacking the fire while a second unit searched the residence, officials said. Firefighters determined no one was inside.
The fire was brought under control about 2:40 p.m. and fully extinguished by 2:45 p.m., according to the department.
The vehicle sustained major damage, while the home sustained moderate damage. One civilian was evaluated and treated at the scene before being released.

Six fire units and 13 personnel responded. The Harker Heights Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire’s cause and origin.
