AUSTIN, Texas - Meals on Wheels Central Texas (MOWCTX) has announced that going forward, it will deliver two-week supplies of shelf-stable lunches every two weeks to the homebound seniors it serves.
The organization said in a press release that the schedule change will decrease the number of interactions between volunteers and clients. All volunteers have also been instructed on how to safely deliver meals while also exercising social distancing.
Case managers will be calling clients regularly to check in on them, assess their needs and ease their concerns during the temporary suspension of daily meal deliveries, according to the press release.
Volunteers will deliver the first two-week supply of shelf-stable lunches on Friday, April 10.
