Monarch Utilities announces boil water notice for NE Hays County

Monarch Utilities is announcing a boil water notice for customers in the Plum Creek water systems located in Northeast Hays County.

The notice affects homes on the following streets:

  • Skyview
  • Cresthill Causeway
  • Tree Top
  • Willow Terrace
  • Valley View
  • Lilac Way
  • Dogwood
  • Thunderhead
  • Anna Drive
  • Lawnsdale
  • Summit
  • Bluebonnet

The company says due to conditions that occurred recently in the water system, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the system to notify all customers to boil water prior to consumption.

Customers may have experienced low or loss of water pressure the evening of December 1 due to a water main leak repair. Water pressure was restored around 4 a.m. this morning.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and ice making should be boiled and cooked prior to consumption.

Water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. Officials say you can also buy bottled water.
