For parents who are staying in for New Year's but not looking to have their kids stay up until midnight, Netflix is giving families a shortcut of sorts.
And if you are staying in, you're not alone. Netflix reports 77 percent of U.S. parents actually prefer to stay in than go out for the biggest bash of the year.
The streaming platform has released their New Year's Eve countdowns featuring characters from several of their shows geared for kids, including new tween shows -- to ring in the New Year at a time of their choosing.
Families can search "countdowns" to find a variety of special programs for New Year's Eve.
Featured countdowns for tweens include:
Alexa and Katie
Prince of Peoria
For elementary-age kids:
Tales of Arcadia
All Hail King Julien
Spirit Riding Free
True and the Rainbow Kingdom
The special countdown shows will be available online through Jan. 6.
