Patient dresses up for cancer treatments

Daniela Maniscalchi is making the most out of a not-so-great situation. She also has the support from her husband and family and all of the staff at the Cancer Institute at St. Francis Hospital in East Hills, Long Island.

Daniela was diagnosed with cancer last year. Doctors ordered 12 rounds of chemotherapy. It's a lot to deal with but Daniela has come up with a novel way to distract herself. She dresses up, and everyone gets involved.

No one ever wants to go through chemotherapy but Daniela's strength has rubbed off on her brother-in-law Mike. And her dad, Ernesto.

Smiles and moments of sadness. She is halfway done. And has an important message for everyone else struggling to survive: stay strong and do whatever you can to get through it.
