Police responding to burglary call discover dead body

Austin Police have cleared the scene but the investigation continues as there are a lot of questions but few answers after a dead body was found when police responded to a burglary call.

It happened in the 6000 block of Perlita Drive, a block from Sendero Hills Parkway in the East Austin area.

Police say around 10 P.M. on June 27 they got a 9-1-1 call in which the caller told police there was a burglary in process at a home.

When police arrived they searched the house and checked for signs of a break-in or anything suspicious and that's when they found one person dead.

Police say the body had obvious signs of trauma but wouldn't elaborate on the cause of death. No other information about the victim has been released.

Police did say that the person found dead does not live at the home. It's unclear if the people who do live in the home were there at the time of the incident.

There is no suspect in custody and police are asking anyone with information to call 9-1-1.
