Over 250,000 pool toys recalled over an impalement risk

A recall has been issued for 254,000 pool toy dive sticks because these products pose an impalement risk, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The agency explained in a recall notice that these toys violate a federal dive sticks ban because they exceeded the "compress limit."

To date, no injuries have been reported from use of the dive sticks. CPSC officials stated that in shallow water, children may fall or land on a dive stick, resulting in severe piercing injuries. The dive sticks can also potentially cause facial and eye injuries when children try to retrieve the sticks underwater.

Sloosh dive sticks, contained in packages of Sloosh water toys, were recalled by Joyin US Corp.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Sloosh Water Toys package contains 30 pieces, including five dive sticks. The affected dive sticks are made of plastic in a cylinder-shaped piece.
The dive sticks were sold at Amazon.com, Temu.com, Wayfair.com, Plus.Target.com and SHEIN.com between February 2019 and October 2025 in the price range of $17 and $22.
If I have the dive sticks, what should I do with them?
What you can do:
Consumers with dive sticks should stop using them immediately, take them away from children and throw the products away.
Owners of the dive sticks will be required to take a picture of the disposed items in the trash and email it to Joyin at support@joyin.com. Once the company receives your email, Joyin will send consumers redesigned dive sticks that meet federal regulations.
