Rapper Ty Dolla $ign arrested in Atlanta for drug possession
ATLANTA - Rapper Ty Dolla $ign was arrested by Atlanta Police on charges of marijuana and cocaine possession.
The singer, whose real name is Tyrone Griffin, was stopped Wednesday night while traveling to his concert. Six other people were in the vehicle when police pulled it over after smelling marijuana coming from inside.
In a video obtained by TMZ, you can see officers and drug dogs searching the 33-year-old rapper's vehicle.
The people he was traveling with were not charged. It's unclear why Griffin was the only one arrested.
The rapper went before a judge Thursday morning and was granted a $6,000 bond. His next hearing is set for September 20.
The musician was scheduled to perform in Atlanta on Wednesday as part of G-Eazy's The Endless Summer Tour. Reports didn't include comment from him or representation.
