Realtor.com moves headquarters to Austin from California

AUSTIN - Realtor.com announced on Thursday the relocation of its corporate headquarters to Austin, Texas from Santa Clara, Calif. 

The company says it has made Austin its top hiring location and is committed to the long-term growth of its team in Texas.

Realtor.com says it has invested in its Austin location through hiring, developing new talent though its internship program and supporting the local community through numerous charitable events.

Realtor.com released a new report on Thursday showing Texas is the fastest growing state and is forecast to overtake California as the most populous state in 2045.

According to the report, people are moving to Texas because of plentiful jobs, affordable housing and a different climate. 

The report also shows Texas is building more affordable homes than the rest of the country.
