Round Rock resident dies after Gatesville hospital explosion

Round Rock resident Filiberto Morales, 36, has died after being injured in the Tuesday afternoon explosion at a Central Texas hospital, according to the Gatesville Police Department.

The explosion happened around 3 p.m. in a part of the Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville. Witnesses said a generator exploded in an addition to the hospital that was under construction. The hospital chief executive said a gas line may have been involved.

Gatesville police say Morales was working at the construction site the day of the explosion. He was transported to Scott and White Hospital in Temple and passed away on Thursday as a result of his injuries.
