T-Mobile users reported issues with their cellular device on Monday, citing problems with their phone connection, signal and internet.

Is T-Mobile down?

What we know:

Reports of problems began coming in to DownDetector around 4:00 p.m. ET on July 27.

According to DownDetector, which tracks outages, there were more than 61,000 reports of T-Mobile as of 5:00 p.m. ET.

Nearly half of users (44%) were self-reporting issues with their "mobile phone." Other users were reporting issues with "no signal" and "mobile internet."

What we don't know:

As of 5:00 p.m. ET, it was still unclear what the issue was or what caused the problems.

The company had not confirmed a T-Mobile outage on social media. FOX Local reached out to T-Mobile for information.

"Our teams are actively working the reports of technical challenges impacting some customers," a spokesperson for T-Mobile said in a statement. "Any service impacts are in the process of being resolved and are our highest priority. We know how critical it is to stay connected, and every available resource is focused on resolving this as quickly as possible."

There were also about 1,000 Verizon and 850 AT&T outages reported on DownDetector, as well.

‘SOS’ only – what does it mean?

Dig deeper:

During the outage, iPhone and Android users reported seeing SOS or "SOS only" in the status bar.

This means the device isn't connected to a network, but the phone users can still make emergency calls.
