Volunteer project at Dove Springs District Park
Community members spent the morning mulching trees at Dove Springs District Park in Southeast Austin.
Austin Parks Foundation sponsors monthly volunteer projects to get Austinites involved in their neighboorhood parks.
Cynthia Rodriguez, the Outreach Coordinator and Community Organizer at Austin Parks Foundation, says the volunteer days are great opportunities for residents to come together help keep their parks looking beautiful.
"Volunteering at your park is a great way to get involved in your community. It's a great way to promote community ownership and leadership around our neighborhood parks," Rodriguez says.
The foundation hosts volunteer days on the first Saturday of each month. They provide all the tools and supplies - all you have to do is show up.
