AUSTIN, Texas - The holidays keep getting closer and with it comes more opportunities to enjoy some of the holiday fun around town this weekend!
Austin Trail of Lights | December 10 - 23
It's that time of year when Zilker Park is lit up for the holidays. There are plenty of new exhibits as well as some twists on old favorites at this year's Trail of Lights. Some of the exhibits this year are also interactive. The Trail of Lights is one of Austin's most celebrated holiday traditions with 2019 marking its 55th return. With the mix of cold weather, music, food and, of course, the lights, attendees say it's a great way to get into the holiday spirit. The Trail of Lights will be open for the next two weeks and admission is free half that time. This year they are expecting half a million people to walk the trail.

Springdale General's Grand Opening | December 14
Springdale General is having its grand opening just in time for the holidays. The new development is full of maker studios, test kitchens and versatile spaces with a mission to keep things affordable for Austin's creative class. Creatives like Iona's Handcrafted Books and the female tattoo shop No Good Tattoo. The grand opening is this Saturday and runs from 3 - 7 p.m.
Breakfast with Santa | December 14
The 19th annual Breakfast with Santa is happening this Saturday in Georgetown. Georgetown firefighters will be making pancakes and sausage that will be served with juice and coffee. Children will be allowed to climb on board of a fire truck and have a free picture taken with Santa! Tickets for the event cost $6 and can be bought at the door at the day of the event. Breakfast with Santa will be at the Community Center at 445 E. Morrow Street in San Gabriel Park and runs from 7:30 - 11 a.m. All proceeds from the event will provide clothing, food, and gifts for children in the Georgetown area.
Blue Genie Art Bazaar | November 6 - December 24
An Austin holiday season staple is open until Christmas Eve! The Blue Genie Art Bazaar has thousands of original works from serious pieces of art to quirky, fun items. All items at the bazaar are handmade by local and regional artists. Photography, glasswork, jewelry and much more will be up for sale from over 200 artists! There will also be a full bar and light bites. This annual market is conveniently located under one roof with a centralized checkout. The bazaar is free and runs from 10 AM to 10 PM daily. It is located across from the ACC Highland Campus.
Life-Sized Gingerbread House | Closes January 1
The holidays are officially underway at the Westin Austin Downtown as it brings back its life-sized gingerbread house for another year. Within the house is a dining room (which people can book to eat at) that's an extension of the Stella San Jac restaurant. The room can seat 10-12 and will serve a variety of menus for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner from now until January 1. That includes Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.
