Lakeway police: Juveniles arrested for attempting to break into cars in Preserve neighborhood

The Lakeway Police Department is asking for the public's help in investigating attempted car burglaries in a neighborhood in southeast Lakeway. 

Lakeway police say that officers spotted a suspicious vehicle and at least two suspicious subjects on foot around 1:30 a.m. Jan. 29 in the Preserve neighborhood. The subjects fled on foot after officers made contact with them.

Officers detained a black pickup truck with a white camper shell and two juveniles who police say were believed to be in the process of burglarizing vehicles. The juveniles were arrested and charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and criminal attempted burglary of motor vehicles.

Police say another suspect may have fled in a red Lexus SUV.

Lakeway police are asking residents in the Preserve neighborhood to review their home video cameras during the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. for Wednesday, January 29 and contact the police department if they see any related activity, specifically juveniles attempting to break into vehicles.
