SXSW 2019: Bleed For The Throne

After delighting fans last year with its Westworld activation at SXSW, HBO was back with a new activation for its hit show "Game of Thrones" to help promote the show's eight and final season.

The network partnered with the American Red Cross for a global donation campaign. Guests could donate blood and then walk through an immersive experience where they could relive some of the big moments from specific characters from the show.

The activation included many original costumes from the show, The Mountain's armor as well as authentic props and weapons.

The end of the activaiton featured a choir performing an original nearly 30 minute composition inspired by the show as well as a pinning ceremony where guests could get a special pin bestowed upon them by the Red Priestess.
