Some Austin-area gyms plan to reopen on May 18, others to remain closed

Abbott announced Texas gyms can reopen at 25 percent capacity May 18th under certain guidelines, like disinfecting gym equipment after each use and maintaining proper social distancing between customers.

APD: Man shot in South Austin suffering life-threatening injuries

Around 5 p.m. on Sunday police responded to the 7100 block of Bluff Springs Road in South Austin. According to a police spokesperson, when police arrived on the scene they found a male victim with a life-threatening injury. 

Suspect hits pregnant girlfriend multiple times, he 'just felt like hitting her'

The suspect told police that he believes he punched her at least 15 times in the face with a closed fist before their child and the victim's mother arrived at the home.
